Members Family Morning Event

The Natural History Museum

Our team had a great morning at the Natural History Museum for their Members Family Morning event: Connecting with Nature.

Zoom Through History provided two actors to take a tour of the museums’ botanical themed architecture!

We also provided a storyteller who performed an interactive story in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition; inspired by some of the amazing photographs there!

Members Family Morning: Women and Girls in Science.

`The Natural History Museum

We’ve had an amazing morning at The Natural History Museum celebrating amazing female scientists throughout history.

Zoom Through History provided, actors and a storyteller to perform at the Natural History Museum for their Members Family Morning: Women and Girls in Science.

Mary and Joseph Anning traveled through time to meet with three amazing women. Isabella Gordon, Mary Ann Mantell and Mary Somerville!

We also provided a storyteller who created a story based on the life of Doretha Bate!

School visit

Docklands Week

We visited Redriff Primary School for their celebrations of Docklands Week!

The school met with Bert and Eliza who live near and work on the Docks in 1900.

Mary Anning's birthday celebrations and book launch

Lyme Regis Museum

It was such an honour to be invited to the Lyme Regis Museum to celebrate Mary’s 224th birthday.

 

Our actor delivered four interactive tours of the museum, which stands on the foundations on the home that Mary once knew.

Also taking place was the book launch for “She Sold Seashells ...and dragons: The curious Mary Anning. Re-imagined'' by Wolfgang Grulke.

Digging for Victory

We are so thrilled to be collaborating with Firefly Press for the book launch of Digging for Victory by Cathy Faulkner . 

On the 4th May 2023 we will be delivering our World War II online workshop led by our Spitfire Pilot to schools all over the UK.

We’re so pleased to have the author herself, Cathy Faulkner, joining us for an exciting Q&A all about her book after the workshop.

Scrooge is a changed man but has he changed for the better? His generosity has reached new heights, his frivolous spending is having a big consequence on our environment. 

Enter three pesky monsters… Can these monsters convince Scrooge to see that even one man’s actions can have huge consequences on our planet!?

South Devon Railway

We were so pleased to have provided two characters to be apart of the 150th year celebrations of the opening of the railway. 

- 30th April – 2nd May 2022

 Frank and Eliza, had a wonderful time touring the railway, storytelling and recounting the history of how the railways changed the lives of working class people forever!

Exciting news!

We will be collaborating with Charles Darwin’s great-great granddaughter, Sarah Darwin for an upcoming event at The Natural History Museum on 7th October 2023.

Sarah Darwin will be reading from her new children’s book Evolution, and we are delighted to be providing an actor to play her great great grandfather for this exciting event- “Exploring Evolution”.

We’re having the best time bringing history to life for school groups and families.

Meet Bert and Eliza our East End husband and wife duo. Listen to their stories of life on the London Victorian docks and hear how Eliza’s involvement in the Match Girl strike of 1888 inspired Bert to back the Dockers Strike of 1889.

The Lyme Regis Museum

Attention all fossil hunters, we have got some VERY exciting news!

We are absolutely delighted to announce that we will be collaborating with the Lyme Regis Museum for their Fossil Festival School Day this April as well as for Mary Anning's 224th birthday on the 21st May. 

We will provide actors to play Mary Anning for these exciting events. They will deliver interactive workshops all about Mary's life.

Did you know that The Lyme Regis Museum is built on the site of Mary's home?

We are incredibly passionate about Mary's story and to be bringing her home to The Lyme Regis Museum is a dream come true.

We spent an afternoon filming at Strawberry Hill House . “A little gothic castle” once owned by Horace Walpole. 

Our actor played Horace Walpole himself for this educational film.

St Bartholomew the

Greats Church 

In October 2021 & 2022 we provided an actor to play King Henry V at an amazing event in London. 

 

Huge congratulations to Beyond Curated for creating such a wonderful night. 

 

Our actor delighted guests with rousing speeches from King Henry V and mingled the night away with tales from the Battle of Agincourt. The location for this event was at the beautiful medieval church of Great Barts.

In June 2020 Nadia and Josh (creators of Zoom Through History) were invited live on air by BBC Radio London as Queen Victoria & Prince Albert. They then dropped character to talk all about their new education platform. 

 

It was brilliant interview by Jason Rosam and Joshua then had the pleasure of introducing the wonderful 

Vanessa Feltz.

160th Anniversary of the London Underground

London Transport Museum and Transport for London

Happy 160th birthday to the London Underground this year Transport for London. 

Audiences met with Frederick Cornez from the year 1863 from when the Metropolitan Railway opened in London.

They also met with Mary Smith from 1890 when the world’s first deep level electric underground train was opened in London.

Transport yourself back to 1953…

 

The year of the Queen Elizabeth II Coronation.

 

Here's our Grenadier Guard on the platform at Acton Central as he prepares to be apart of history. 

 

We are so thrilled to have collaborated with the London Transport Museum on this exciting three day Coronation event. 

 

Visitors got the opportunity to talk with our actor at the depot station at Acton Central .They had a ride on 1938 tube train from Acton Town to Uxbridge Station and immersed themselves in the coronation celebrations of 53!

Titano-Roar -Member Family Morning Event

We had ROARsome time at the Natural History Museum on the 23rd April 2023.

 

Zoom Through History provided two actors to take a tour back in time to Cretaceous Period for an adventure around the Dino Gallery. 

 

We also provided a storyteller who read the brilliant book ‘’ Titanosaur: Life as the Biggest Dinosaur”.

We will be providing actors to deliver a tour all about London's smelly past, led by a Night Soil Man! These tours will also run throughout the year.

 

Nadia and Josh are also busy writing and developing ''Mr Scrooge and the Messy Monsters'', a family performance all about Victorian pollution from the perspective of Scrooge himself!

Merry Christmas from Natural History Museum, London!

 

We had an amazing festive evening at The Natural History Museum for their Members Evening ;Festive Fun!We provided scripts, two characters and a facilitator for this event.

 

Our actors lead tours around the Dino Gallery, sent on a secret mission from Santa Claus himself, our explorers with the help of our audience followed the clues and saved Christmas at the museum!
